Relaxing

The plan was to get to the Mexican border at 4am to beat the congestion. 4am! This means that we left the South Bay at midnight and drove straight to the border. Crossing and getting the required permits to drive into Baja Sur was a snap. Well a snap in 3rd world inefficient fashion (walk to that window, walk back to the 1st window, walk back to that window, walk around the building, now go back to 1st window and pay...).

We finally made it to Punta Abreojos 14 hours later. Everyone was so stoked to see the coast again and we all watched in anticipation of seeing the waves. As we crested the sand dunes we could see perfect tubes peeling right with the offshores blowing a beautifull crest of white wash over the back of the waves. 'Ohhhhhhhhhhhh' was about the only thing anyone said, but as we got closer we realized that those perfect waves were about 2 inches tall... bummer!

With nothing surfable we attended to finding a place to sleep and feeding our appetites. The group devored everything editable at the restaraunt (no mas tortilla, no mas pescado, no mas frijoles, no mass...).

We relaxed and watched the sunset reliving stories of the adventures on the Mexican road and epic surf to come.

This is an open place to comment and express yourself. As such, we rarely moderate what shows up here. A lively discussion - creative ideas, counterpoints, 'props', and thoughtful expression of opinions - is encouraged. Although infrequent, a few things may warrant deletion: off topic, spam, mean-spirited comments and/or personal attacks. Beyond that, I'm excited to hear what you have to say.
